From Hermit Mode to Manifestation: The Power of Patience
How the New Orleans Oracle reveals your journey from introspection to abundance
Hey Star Child, Morgan Black here. You've been asking me about the decks I use in my readings, so I wanted to break down the New Orleans Oracle that featured prominently in episode 345. This magical deck has become one of my favorite spiritual tools, channeling the mystical energy of The Big Easy with every shuffle.
The New Orleans Oracle: My Gateway to Southern Mysticism
When I first encountered the New Orleans Oracle deck, I felt an immediate connection to its vibrant energy and deep spiritual roots. This deck draws from the rich mystical traditions of New Orleans - a perfect fusion of Voodoo, Hoodoo, Catholicism, and the unique spiritual blend that makes this city a powerhouse of manifestation magic.
I often turn to this deck when I need clarity beyond what traditional tarot provides. The cards speak with a distinctive Southern drawl, offering messages that feel both ancient and immediate. The imagery incorporates elements of New Orleans culture, from the rich French Quarter aesthetics to the mysterious bayou energy that permeates the region.
In Episode 345, I used this deck to explore the journey from introspection to manifestation - something many of you have been experiencing. Let's break down each oracle card that appeared in our reading and what these energies mean for your spiritual journey.
Breaking Down the Oracle Cards
Patience
When Patience appears, it's a cosmic reminder that divine timing isn't always aligned with human timing. In our reading, this card surfaced right away, indicating that many of you are in that frustrating space between planting your seeds and witnessing their bloom. The universe knows your desires, but some things can't be rushed. This energy reminds us that premature harvests yield bitter fruit. Your manifestations are forming in the spiritual realm before materializing in the physical world.
Growth
The Growth card often follows Patience because they work in tandem. This card represents the invisible progress happening beneath the surface. Like a seed pushing through soil, your spiritual and personal development is occurring even when you can't see it. In our reading, Growth emerged alongside Patience, suggesting that this period of seeming stillness is actually rich with expansion. Your soul is evolving, even on days when you feel stagnant.
The Pearl
One of my favorite cards in this deck, The Pearl represents wisdom gained through friction and pressure. Just as an oyster transforms an irritant into something precious, your challenges are transforming into spiritual treasures. When The Pearl appeared in our reading, it signified that the knowledge you've gained during your hermit phase wasn't just intellectual - it was alchemical, changing you at a cellular level. This wisdom will serve as your guiding light as you emerge from introspection.
Spiritual Knowledge
This card represents esoteric wisdom and elevated consciousness. When it appears, you're being reminded that you've accumulated significant spiritual insights - perhaps more than you realize. In our reading, this card suggested that some of you might be undervaluing the spiritual knowledge you've gained. This isn't just information; it's power. The card reminds you to integrate this wisdom rather than compartmentalizing it from your everyday life.
Power
Appearing at the bottom of the deck (which I always read as the foundational energy), Power indicates personal sovereignty and energetic authority. This card reminds us that true power comes from within, not from external validation or comparison. In our reading, this card warned against diminishing your power by measuring your journey against others'. Your unique spiritual fingerprint means your path won't mirror anyone else's - and that's exactly as it should be.
Let Loose
This playful card appears when we need to release rigidity and embrace spontaneity. When it surfaced in our reading, it carried an important message: maintaining your magical energy requires periods of release and joy. The Let Loose card suggests that some of you may have become too serious in your manifestation work. Remember that the universe responds to the vibration of joy just as powerfully as it does to focused intention. Dance, laugh, play - these aren't distractions from your spiritual path; they're essential components of it.
Companionship
The Companionship card speaks to the power of connection and collaboration. This isn't just about romantic relationships - it encompasses soul family, creative partnerships, and kindred spirits who accelerate your growth. In our reading, this card suggested that some of you are ready to emerge from solitary creation and share your gifts through meaningful connections. The fairy imagery on this card reminds us that some relationships have an ethereal quality, bridging the human and spirit realms.
Sharing Your Gifts
This card represents the courage to express your unique talents and perspectives. When it appears, you're being called to stop hiding your light. In our reading, this card emerged alongside Companionship, suggesting a powerful convergence: your gifts are meant to be shared through collaboration. This isn't about ego - it's about serving your divine purpose and allowing your creative energy to ripple outward.
Peace
The Peace card represents internal harmony and protected energetic boundaries. This isn't passive peace but an actively maintained state of balance. When it appeared in our reading, it served as a reminder that as you transition from hermit mode to manifestation mode, maintaining inner peace becomes even more crucial. Your ability to manifest depends on your emotional baseline - anxiety and peace cannot coexist as dominant energies.
End of a Cycle
This transformative card marks completion and transition. When it appears, you're standing at a threshold between what was and what will be. In our reading, this card confirmed what many of you have been feeling - a chapter is closing, making space for new beginnings. The hermit phase served its purpose, and now you're ready to apply what you've learned in a more expansive way.
Signs
The Signs card is a cosmic nudge to remain alert to synchronicities and messages. When this card appears, the veil between worlds is thinning, allowing guidance to flow more readily. In our reading, this card suggested that many of you will receive dream messages and intuitive hits about your next steps. The card reminds us that signs can be subtle - a repeated number, an overheard conversation, or a song that plays at just the right moment.
Transformation
Appearing as our final card, Transformation represents complete metamorphosis. This isn't incremental change but a total shifting of form - the caterpillar becoming the butterfly. This card confirmed that the journey we tracked through this reading isn't just about moving from one phase to another; it's about emerging as a fundamentally different version of yourself. The hermit wisdom has changed your DNA, and the manifestation phase will express this new coding.
Tarot's Confirmation of Your Journey
While the New Orleans Oracle provided our primary roadmap, the tarot cards that followed offered deeper insights into specific aspects of this transition. The appearance of the Hermit in reverse confirmed that many of you are indeed emerging from a period of introspection and solitude. The Judgment card spoke to your heightened self-awareness - you see yourself clearly now, without the distortions of ego or external conditioning.
The Emperor showed up to remind you that you're the sovereign ruler of your reality, while the Ace of Pentacles represented the tangible new beginning that awaits. When the Ten of Pentacles and Ten of Cups both appeared, they confirmed what I sensed immediately - this manifestation phase has the potential to bring both material abundance and emotional fulfillment.
The Devil card, which I was delighted to see, indicated that many of you are stepping into that powerful "get it done" energy that combines focus with fierce determination. Combined with the Magician, this suggested that you have all the tools needed to transform vision into reality.
The appearance of the Moon card alongside the Eight of Wands suggested that communications and opportunities are approaching from directions you can't yet see - trust that they're on their way, even if they remain hidden for now.
Embracing Your Fire As You Manifest
What struck me most about this reading was the return of fire energy after what seems to have been a water-dominant hermit phase. As you transition from reflection to action, your sacral and root energies are reawakening. This explains the sense of impatience many of you are feeling - your fire wants to burn brightly after being banked for so long.
Remember, Star Child, that while patience remains necessary, this fire energy is a gift. Channel it into consistent action steps rather than allowing it to manifest as frustration. The signs you receive will guide you in directing this energy most effectively.
Protect your peace as you move forward, but don't mistake peace for passivity. You can be both peaceful and powerful, both patient and progressive. The wisdom you gained in hermit mode hasn't left you - it's simply being integrated into a more action-oriented expression of your spiritual path.
I'm seeing incredible potential for those of you in this energy right now. Keep your nose to the grindstone, maintain your magical perspective, and remember that letting loose occasionally will fuel rather than hinder your progress.
Until next time, this is Morgan Black, your spooky cheerleader, reminding you that transformation isn't just coming - it's already here.

I came from your most recent reading and when you said, “substack” it was my final confirmation. I have been writing on here for a couple months now and I recently started a paper I initially only wanted to give to my parents, discussing my core beliefs and how my views are so unaligned with theres to the point associating with them becomes draining and grating. We have had verbal discussions over our disagreements and now I want to set a boundary with them in written form, because I find it has always been the best means for me to articulate myself. If they can not even attempt to be open-minded or see another perspective (after I give a bunch of examples on things I consider very serious), I will leave and cut contact. I am not telling them they need to change all of their beliefs, but to at-least try and see things from my view. They have previously disregarded my vulnerability and passion for certain things, and this is me finally drawing the line in the sand. If they can’t talk me seriously, then I know they are not the people I need to be around.
